A travel agency has closed its doors leaving some very disgruntled travelers.

BC's consumer watchdog has suspended the license of Exclusively Canada a travel agency based in North Vancouver.

The move comes after the company ceased operations last week and contacted Consumer Protection BC which is in charge of licensing. It pulled the company's license pending further investigation. Manjit Bains says consumers who booked with Exclusively Canada will need to check their travel plans.

"You may want to contact the airline, or your hotel to confirm your booking," Bains said.

If your booking is affected, Bains says you may be able to get a refund through your credit card company. If you've purchased travel insurance you might also be able to get a refund through the insurance carrier. Another option is the Travel Assurance Fund a fund of last resort which offers compensation to consumers who have booked travel through a BC licensed travel agent but did not receive their travel services.
