Surrey RCMP are appealing to the public for information related to a suspected drunk driving crash.

Police received several calls about a car crash Saturday morning at about 9:20 a.m. on 60th Avenue and King George Boulevard.

Witnesses said a dark-coloured Chrysler sedan hit a light pole which fell and crushed the roof of the car.

The Chrysler then hit another car and took off, driving eastbound on 60th Avenue, according to police. Witnesses reported seeing the car spraying sparks and possibly missing a front tire.

Police found the car in an alley near the intersection of 138A Street and 60th Avenue and took the driver into custody.

The case is under investigation and Surrey RCMP are asking any witnesses who saw the crash, or the car driving before the crash to call the Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
