A Delta, B.C., man charged with one count each of possessing and accessing child pornography has been released on bail.

Clea Faus Gaudry, better known as Kip Gaudry, was charged in Surrey Provincial Court on Thursday.

He was released from custody Friday evening on $10,000 bail. Conditions of his release include that Gaudry not possess a computer with internet capabilities or that can store, send, or receive photographic or video material.

He is also prohibited from being in the company of children under 14 years old or using a park or swimming area that can be accessed by them.

Gaudry, a former Corporation of Delta director of engineering, resigned his position with the city after police executed search warrants in his office and home last March.

Officers seized computer equipment and other technical hardware in the search, said Const. Sharlene Brooks of the Delta Police Department.

His next court appearance is scheduled for March 19.
