The Vancouver Canucks were hoping to have Daniel Sedin back in their line-up Thursday in Detroit, but his broken foot has not healed well enough for him to play.

The injured winger left the team Wednesday to return to Vancouver to undergo more evaluation.

Sedin is not expected to play until later next week against the Colorado Avalanche November 20.

Sedin has been out of the line-up since he broke his foot October 7. He joined the team in Dallas this past Saturday hoping for a return this week.

Sedin practised with the club Sunday and completed an off-ice workout on Monday. He took the game day skate Tuesday in St. Louis, but was unhappy with the discomfort he felt.
