There is a new development in relation to Saturday's fatal hit and run accident in Surrey, B.C. that killed a mother and father.
Investigators are still being tightlipped about whether they have located the driver of the vehicle that is believed to have caused the crash.
But CTV has learned that there's a witness to the accident who can answer the question of whether this a street race or not.
Early Saturday morning, the Badh family of Surrey were just returning from an engagement party when their vehicle was rear-ended and subsequently smashed into a street pole.
Dilbag, who was 61, and 60 year old Bakhshish Badh died at the scene. The vehicle that hit them was a white Acura.
Two Indo-Canadian young men fled the vehicle. But a second car, a black Camaro that was believed to be racing the Acura, stayed at the scene and the occupants are working with police.
"Well fortunately someone had some morals about them,'' said Sgt. Roger Morrow of Surrey RCMP.
"The other vehicle was a black Camaro, (its) male driver he stayed at the scene of the collision, and is assisting us with our investigation.''
"With regards as to whether this is street racing, that's a whole other issue and we have yet to determine whether it was street-racing but we are open to that possibility,'' Morrow said.
Police are still looking for other witnesses, who may have seen the Acura in the moments leading up to the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey RCMP or Crimestoppers.
