Kousha Malekpour is a convicted criminal, but he’s also in the health care business – as a government-licensed marijuana grower.
Health Canada says only a drug offence would stop them from issuing a medical pot license, and Malekpour has only been convicted of theft and threatening a police officer so far.
Earlier this month, police raided his Port Coquitlam grow-operation and found almost 600 plants, most of which were seized. The city says Malekpour is only licensed for 171, though he insists he’s actually allowed to grow 584.
With most of his crop gone and a no-occupy order slapped on his home, Malekpour invited CTV’s Mi-Jung Lee to tour his operation. Watch the results here.
