The people have spoken. Just nine months into their jobs anchoring CTV News at Six, the team of Tamara Taggart and Mike Killeen has come out on top in a highly popular viewer survey.

The latest Best of Vancouver poll from the Georgia Straight newspaper names the Taggart and Killeen duo as the most popular TV news anchors in the region, beating out the news anchor teams at Global and CBC.

"We're thrilled," Taggart said. "We asked people to try out the new team on CTV News and it feels great to know so many of them like what we're doing."

Killeen says the survey confirms what he's hearing on the street.

"A lot of people come up to us and say they really like the chemistry on our show, and it seems that's paying off," he said.

CTV News at Six won this year's Radio and Television News Directors Association award for the best newscast in B.C. and the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting.
