The B.C. government has released a complete list of items that will be taxed under the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). The new list comes after criticism over the government's lack of transparency over the HST.

The province of Ontario recently released an eight-page document explaining what will and will not be taxed. A similar list had not been released in B.C. until now.

The lack of detail left many consumers confused. Some believed that it may have fueled some of the opposition to the tax.

"They did nothing to inform people about this and that is part of the reason we are getting such a huge response." Brad Slade, a volunteer with the Fight HST campaign led by former B.C. premier Bill Vander Zalm, told CTV News.

The B.C. government released its complete HST list Friday.

Some of the items on the B.C. HST list include restaurant meals, hockey tickets, funerals, bicycles and haircuts.
