Readers of a popular U.S. travel magazine are once again putting Vancouver on top of a list of preferred destinations.

Conde Nast Traveler is set to release its 2010 Readers' Choice Awards, and Vancouver is rated the best city in the Americas outside the U.S. for the fifth time since 2004.

The magazine asks subscribers to rank cities based on a variety of factors, including tourist attractions, hotels, shopping and friendliness.

Kevin Krueger, British Columbia's Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, says the award showcases the city's appeal as a vacation destination, and will get more people visiting Vancouver and the province.

It's another honour for Vancouver, after being ranked fourth in the world in Mercer's 2010 Quality of Living Survey.

The Readers' Choice Awards will be featured in the magazine's November issue.
