Commuters had a nightmare trip home Monday evening as the Port Mann Bridge was closed in both directions following a serious accident.
It began with a two-vehicle crash, with one car being engulfed in flames. Fire crews got the fire under control quickly though one vehicle was destroyed.
No one was injured.
The RCMP said the crashed occurred around 3:45 p.m.
One lane has reopened both east and westbound but there is heavy traffic back-up.
The bridge, an important artery in Metro Vancouver, links Coquitlam and Surrey.
