An on-ice incident reported last month may have Vancouver Canuck forward Alex Burrows in hot water with Quebec police.

According to French language website RDS.ca, the 27-year-old Pincourt, Que., native is being investigated in connection with a complaint filed on July 21.

Goaltender Koray Celik was allegedly struck in the face with Burrows' stick at the Centre d'Excellence sur Glace hockey rink during an off-season summer league game last month.

Celik is reportedly badly bruised but not seriously injured. No charges against Burrows have been filed.

Burrows recently re-signed with Vancouver to a four-year contract worth $8 million.

In a statement, the Canucks hockey club declined to comment on any potential investigation.

"The club is gathering the facts and will have no further comment at this time," it read.
