A school bus carrying 10 students and two teachers from Edmonton has been found after apparently disappearing en route to the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Police say everyone onboard is safe.
The grade-12 students arrived in Victoria Sunday at 5 p.m., and were headed to the Bamfield Marine Science Centre for an annual class trip, according to Peter Mitchell, headmaster of the private Tempo School.
They were due to arrive in Bamfield later on Sunday, but staff at the science centre say they failed to show up.
RCMP say the bus took a wrong turn, and could not turn around because the road was so narrow. The wrong turn took them two or three hours off course, and the area did not have cell phone coverage.
The group spent Sunday night at a logging camp.
