Conservatives in B.C.'s federal riding of Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon have decided to keep the seat in the family.
They have selected Mark Strahl to replace his father, Transport Minister Chuck Strahl, who announced ten days ago that he won't be running again.
The elder Strahl revealed he was leaving politics on the same day that Delta-Richmond East MP John Cummins and Okanagan-Coquihalla MP and Treasury Board President Stockwell Day announced they would not seek re-election.
Tories in the suburban Vancouver riding of Delta-Richmond East also moved quickly to nominate a new candidate -- selecting Delta School Board chairman Dale Saip from among five candidates at a nomination meeting Monday night.
Conservatives in the southern Interior riding of Okanagan-Coquihalla have three candidates to choose from as they vote Tuesday on a replacement for Day.
The speedy nominations compressed a two month process into less than ten days, adding fuel to speculation that Prime Minister Stephen Harper intends to send the country to the polls shortly after his government's latest budget is unveiled.
