Federal Conservatives in three B.C. ridings are busy this week filling vacancies created by the sudden resignations of three high profile Tories.

A nomination meeting takes place Monday evening in Chilliwack as Conservatives in the Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon riding decide who will replace veteran MP Chuck Strahl.

Two candidates are in the running, including Strahl's 32-year-old son, Mark.

It's more of a horse race in the suburban Vancouver riding of Delta-Richmond East, where John Cummins has announced he's stepping down.

In all, five candidates will face off during the Monday evening nomination meeting at a Ladner hotel.

And Tories in the Okanagan-Coquihalla learn Tuesday night which of three candidates will replace Treasury Board President Stockwell Day, who announced his resignation on March 12, ending a quarter century in provincial and federal politics.
