A video game designer from North Vancouver, B.C., is among the three people killed in a car crash on Whidbey Island, Wash., Friday night.

Washington State Troopers say a Chevrolet Blazer crossed the centre line on Highway 20 at around 9 p.m., crashing into an oncoming Subaru.

A woman and two men were thrown from the Blazer. Both men died.

In the Subaru were B.C. residents Brian Wood, a 33-year-old designer at Relic Entertainment, and his six-months-pregnant wife Erin.

Wood was killed in the crash. His wife was rushed to hospital with undisclosed injuries. Both she and her unborn baby are expected to survive.

Investigators say the Blazer swerved into the opposing lane while a passenger was holding the steering wheel. The driver, a 21-year-old woman from Oak Harbor, was reportedly putting on a sweatshirt.

Troopers believe drugs were involved, and say both the driver and passenger could face vehicular homicide charges.

None of the four people in the Blazer were wearing seatbelts, police say.
