Police in Coquitlam, B.C. have identified a 21-year-old woman as Metro Vancouver's ninth homicide victim of 2009.

Brianna Helen Kinnear was found slumped over the wheel of her car around 7 p.m. on Tuesday near the corner of Oxford St. and Mason Ave. in Coquitlam. The driver's side window had been broken.

Cpl. Dale Carr of the RCMP's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says it appears Kinnear died from an apparent gunshot injury.

Carr says the victim is known to the Coquitlam RCMP, but says her death is not linked to any other Metro Vancouver homicide.

Investigators are looking into whether her death is linked to drugs or organized crime, but no link has been made at this time.

Two hours before Kinnear's body was found, Raphael Baldini, 21, was shot dead in front of the London Drugs at the Guildford Town Square in Surrey.

Another man was shot dead Monday night in Surrey. The body of 25-year-old James Ward Erickson was discovered by police in a Surrey apartment building after officers received a call of shots fired.
