A man remains at large following a shooting incident in Vancouver's West End Friday, that left one man in hospital with what police have described as non life-threatening injuries

Vancouver Police say the shooting resulted from an argument between three men in an alley located near the corner of Thurlow St. and Davie St, just after 5:00 p.m.

One of them pulled out a loaded hand gun and started shooting.

One of the men, who attempted to make off on foot, was arrested about a block away by police, who were in the area and heard the shots.

"This was a very shocking scene for the people of the West End,'' said Vancouver Police Const. Tim Fanning. Another suspect managed to get away.

The shooting occurred in what is one of the most heavily populated areas of the city.

Police are continuing their hunt for the man who got away. "We believe we know who it is and we will be looking for him,'' said Fanning.
