A rainy Halloween night resulted in fewer fire calls than usual for Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services, but several deliberately set blazes still lit up the night.
According to firefighters, a replica Lamborghini Diablo, worth $25,000, was set on fire in a garage in the 3500-block of William Street at around 6:30 p.m. Crews said damage to the vehicle and garage was significant.
Firefighters responded to another vehicle fire in the 4100-block of Miller Street at around 1:45 a.m. when a Chevrolet van was lit ablaze.
Crews also reported 11 fireworks-related calls that resulted in damage to mailboxes, port-a-potties, a gazebo and garbage bins. As well, a smoke bomb was set off in a retail outlet.
