A new round of spam robocalls is hitting the Vancouver market, this time with fraudsters claiming to be from the Marriott hotel chain.

The spam calls offer a complimentary stay at a Marriott hotel. The caller requests personal information, including credit card information, in order to receive that free night.

After Steele on Your Side alerted Marriott about the issue, the chain sent out a warning to customers about the scam.

“If you receive a suspicious telephone call, especially for a contest you did not enter we urge you not to provide any personal information, especially credit card information. Instead, simply end the phone call,” Marriott said in an email.
