A murder charge has been laid in connection with the shooting death of a Hells Angels member in B.C.

Burnaby resident Robert Keith Green was found gravely wounded on Sunday morning in Langley, and later died of his injuries. The 56-year-old is described by homicide investigators as a well-connected member of the gang who has a criminal record.

Cpl. Meghan Foster said 27-year-old Jason Francis Wallace was determined to be a suspect in the homicide on Monday, and he was subsequently arrested at a Surrey road stop.

Wallace, whom police have previously linked to Langley's 856 gang, is now charged with second-degree murder.

Foster says the motive in the homicide remains unclear and that the investigation remains in its infancy.

"Homicides related to organized crime can be complicated and lengthy," she said in a statement.

Green first joined the Hells Angels East End Chapter before moving on to the Nomad’s, an elite chapter made up of bikers from multiple Hells Angels clubhouses.

Police are asking witnesses and those with surveillance cameras in the area to contact IHIT.

Officials would also like to speak with anyone who was present at the time, and fled the scene before police arrived, saying their safety could be at risk.
