The victim of a Langley homicide that is currently under investigation was believed by police to have been a member of the Hells Angels.

Few details have been provided in the case, but RCMP said a man was found in the 23700-block of 72 Avenue at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim, who has been identified as 56-year-old Burnaby resident Robert Keith Green, later died of his injuries.

Green's injuries were consistent with foul play, so the RCMP called in the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team to investigate.

IHIT has remained tight-lipped about the case, but said that they believe Green was a well-established member of the Hells Angels, and that he had a criminal record. It is believed that his death was targeted.

Cpl. Meghan Foster said the motive of the shooting had not been confirmed, but that the "risks associated with this lifestyle remain consistent."

Foster would not say whether anyone had been arrested "in an effort to protect public safety," but said that police are asking witnesses and those with surveillance cameras in the area to contact IHIT. Officials would also like to speak with anyone who was present at the time, and fled the scene before police arrived.

"We're concerned for the people that were present at the time of the homicide and we would love for them to come forward," she added.

Foster said there was no direct link to another incident in Langley on Sunday night that caused Mounties to descend on the parking lot of the Greater Vancouver Zoo.

The shooting is believed to be targeted, and the 29-year-old Mission man injured in the incident is known to police.
