Vancouver police have issued a public warning after three women were attacked in separate incidents along the Cambie Corridor since the beginning of the month.
Each attack took place in the early morning hours between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., and in each incident the victim managed to fight off her assailant and run away.
The first attack took place on Sept. 2, when a 24-year-old was grabbed from behind while walking near 18th Avenue.
Three days later, on Sept. 5, a 23-year-old was knocked to the ground near the intersection of Cambie Street and 29th Avenue.
The final victim, a 19-year-old, was also knocked to the ground on Sept. 8 near 55th Avenue.
The suspect in each attack is described as a white man of average height and build.
Police recommend that people walk with a friend, use well-lit streets, and be aware of their surroundings late at night – wearing earphones can make it difficult to hear an approaching attacker.
Anyone with information about the assaults is asked to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-0604 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
