Greater Victoria residents hoping to get their H1N1 vaccinations this weekend may be out of luck.

The Vancouver Island Health Authority says it is having trouble keeping up with the number of island residents eager to roll up their sleeves.

After weeks of waiting, all British Columbians who wish to be immunized against the H1N1 flu virus are now eligible to receive the shot.

As a result, the supply of vaccines has dwindled, forcing the following immunization clinics to be cancelled:

  • Nov. 28 at West-Shore Town Centre (2945 Jacklin Road)
  • Nov. 30 at Oak Bay High School (2151 Cadboro Bay Road)
  • Nov. 30 at Latter Day Saints Church (701 Mann Avenue)
  • Dec. 1 at Latter Day Saints Church (701 Mann Avenue)

The Island Health Authority expects another 100,000 doses to arrive on Tuesday.

A full listing of clinic dates and times is posted on the Vancouver Island Health Authority website.
