Vancouver police have issued a public warning after a possible abduction attempt on the West Side Monday night.

According to police, a 13-year-old girl was walking home on the 1600-block of West 61st Avenue around 7:45 p.m. when she was grabbed from behind by a young man, who put an arm around her and covered her mouth.

The victim screamed loudly enough to scare off the attacker. Police were called shortly after, but were unable to locate a suspect.

Police are searching for a 16-year-old thin white man with fair skin and a brush cut, estimated to be 5-6 tall and between 120 and 140 pounds.
