Two female teachers in separate B.C. communities are facing allegations of sexual misconduct involving students.
In Burnaby, the RCMP are investigating a complaint against a female teacher at Sir Thomas More Catholic School.
Two students made allegations last month that the teacher had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy who was in Grade 11.
No charges have been laid and the principal of the school says the teacher, who has been placed on leave, is distraught and denies the claims.
The teacher has worked at the school for four years and had a clean record. She is described as very popular among students and staff.
And In Vernon, 43-year-old Deborah Ashton has been placed on leave after being accused of invitation to sexual touching and touching for sexual purposes in the case of a child under 14.
The alleged offences occurred between 2002 to 2005 while the teacher was working in the Vernon district. Police aren't releasing the age or sex of the victim in order to protect the child. It is not known which school the alleged offence happened.
