Police in Richmond, B.C., have arrested a Coquitlam couple caught on tape using their child's stroller to shoplift DVDs from an electronics store.

The two -- sarcastically nicknamed "Parents of the Year" by police -- were arrested on Thursday, and police are recommending theft charges.

Last week, Richmond RCMP released security footage taken in an area Future Shop on March 3. They now say that tips from the public led to the couple's arrest.

Police say the couple entered the store with their two young daughters, asked the girls which movies they wanted to see, and proceeded to stash them in a stroller.

Between 80 and 100 Blu-ray and DVD discs worth about $3,000 were taken in the robbery.

The couple has been released on a promise to appear notice, with their first court appearance scheduled for May 27.

Their two children are currently with their grandparents, and the Ministry of Children and Family Development has been notified.
