Mounties in Quesnel, B.C., say they’re searching for one of two suspects involved in a home invasion that took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to police, the suspects—a 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman—broke into a home in the 300 block of Hoy Street around 2:10 a.m.

“(The suspects) sprayed the victim with bear spray, and damaged several items within the home,” a Monday statement from the RCMP reads. “The man was reported to be in possession of a handgun during the incident.”

Mounties say the victims and suspects knew one another, and the male suspect is known to police.

The woman was later arrested outside her home in the 400 block of North Fraser Drive with involvement of the heavily armed emergency response team, police said, but the man remains at large.

The female suspect has since been released from custody with a court date, police said.
