A dump truck crashed into a hydro pole on Boundary Road on Monday, downing power lines and closing a stretch of the busy route for hours.

Authorities said the collision happened around 1 p.m. near Myrtle Street, on the Burnaby side of Boundary. The dump truck also struck and damaged a lamppost.

While no one was seriously hurt, the Vancouver Police Department warned drivers that Boundary would likely be "closed for several hours" between Lougheed Highway and Grandview Highway.

"Please choose an alternate route," the VPD wrote on social media.

Images posted to the Skilled Truckers Canada Facebook group show the aftermath of the crash, which happened just ahead of the rail crossing.

Authorities have not commented on any potential factors in the collision.
