A semi tractor-trailer might have been involved in a hit-and-run collision that killed a homeless man in Langley, B.C., earlier this week.

At about 6:45 p.m. Monday, police got a report of a body lying by the side of the road in the 5900-block of 200th Street.

The victim was later identified as 51-year-old Julian Kirk. A shopping cart was found near his body.

Langley RCMP officials said Wednesday that they obtained surveillance footage from a nearby business that showed a semi tractor-trailer going southbound on 200th Street at the time of the collision.

The truck didn't stop.

Officials were able to track down the trucking company and took a "person of interest" in for questioning. He was later released.

Police said they have obtained warrants and were in the process of seizing the truck.

Anyone with information is asked to call 604-532-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
