The siblings of serial killer Robert Pickton have been granted more time for their lawsuit against the B.C. government over damage to their farm during the RCMP's search for bodies.

David Pickton and Linda Wright have been granted three more months in their notice of claim against the provincial solicitor and attorney generals.

The pair allege Mounties destroyed, disturbed or removed buildings, terrain and machinery in 2002 and 2003 as they searched for remains on the Port Coquitlam farm.

The siblings, who owned the farm with their brother, claim the property was rendered useless and they were not compensated as promised.

In a decision posted on the court website, Justice Lauri Ann Fenlon renews their claim, saying Pickton and Wright did not serve the defendants within one year of filing the claim as required.

Pickton was convicted in 2007 of six counts of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
