One man is dead after an afternoon shooting on a busy street in Port Moody, B.C.

Officers from the Vancouver Police Department have been called in to investigate the shooting at St. Johns and Queens streets, just across the street from a Starbucks and an Indian restaurant. A witness told CTV News that the shooter was wearing dark jeans and a mask when he got out of his vehicle and shot the victim at least six times shortly before 4:45 p.m.

The gunman then got back into his car and drove north, witnesses say. Roads in the area have been closed to traffic while police investigate.
