Semi-truck driver arrested for impaired driving after crash in Richmond, B.C.

Mounties in Richmond, B.C., are looking for witnesses to a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck driver suspected of impaired driving.
A statement from the Richmond RCMP says officers responded to the crash at Sea Island Way and Great Canadian Way shortly after 8 p.m. on Dec. 12.
The driver of a grey 2023 Hyundai Elantra told investigators he was rear-ended by a semi-truck, saying he could smell alcohol on the truck driver's breath, according to police.
Mounties ultimately arrested the truck driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, the statement said.
Investigators are now seeking witnesses and dash-camera video of the vehicles involved in the collision taken between 7:50 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 12.
"Richmond RCMP is aware of potential footage of this collision circulating on social media and are asking anyone who may have footage to come forward," the statement said.
The suspect is at least the second Metro Vancouver semi-truck driver to be arrested for impaired driving last week after a 42-year-old man from Surrey was apprehended following multiple collisions in Port Coquitlam on Monday afternoon.
