A man is dead after falling approximately 60 metres (200 feet) at the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver Saturday.

Mounties were called to the scene around 5:50 p.m. and found the hiker lying motionless on the canyon rocks along the river.

North Vancouver RCMP say they are trying to figure out the man's actions before his fatal fall, but don't believe any criminal intent is related to the death.

The man's age and identity have not been released.

Emergency crews are trying to determine the best way to remove the hiker's body.
