Lineups and delays continued Saturday at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, following a ferry fire Friday morning that put the Spirit of Vancouver Island out of commission for at least a week.
The BC Ferries website reported up to three-sailing waits from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, stalling Thanksgiving weekend travellers for hours on end.
"Build a bloody bridge," one stalled passenger said. "If they can build a bridge from Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick, surely to God they can do it here."
The 2 p.m. sailing was also cancelled due to technical problems.
Even foot passengers were told they'd have to wait to board. As of 6:30 p.m., parking lots were at 100 per cent capacity.
BC Ferries president David Hahn told CTV News that reservations are being honoured, but prepaid Coast Cards are not -- and won't be on Monday, either.
"I think it would really throw off the whole system," BC Ferries president David Hahn told CTV News. "We could have people waiting 6 to 8 hours, which I think is unacceptable."
No major delays were reported at the Swartz Bay terminal.

Air Canada Jazz passengers also stalled
Plane passengers flying within B.C. found a wrench thrown into their travel plans as well this weekend after Air Canada Jazz experienced delays Friday night and Saturday morning.
Hundreds of travellers waited for hours on Friday before learning that technical problems had cancelled or delayed their flights -- though larger planes were added Saturday to rectify the problem.
