Incarcerated Canadian marijuana advocate Marc Emery will soon be home, says his wife Jodie.
The so-called Princess of Pot posted a message on Twitter Thursday morning saying it was expected her husband would be released from Yazoo federal prison shortly.
"I'm a bit excited, that's for sure. I'm showered and shaved and ready to go. It’s so dark and grey outside. I hope they drive me safely there!...Call you tonight (I hope!) Your man on Release day!" Marc wrote in an email to his wife, which she posted online.
Emery was extradited to Seattle in 2010 and was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to selling marijuana seeds.
Despite his release it’s still unclear when he’ll be able to cross back into Canada. Jodie told CTV Morning Live it could be up to 10 days for the detention centre in Louisiana to process his exit paperwork.
Jodie Emery says she and her husband are planning a 30-city advocacy speaking tour across Canada, as well as engagements in Spain, Austria and Uruguay.
Marc just called for the last time from Yazoo federal prison. He's going to be shipped out in the next 15 minutes... My Hero is Coming Home.
