Most women own at least one pair of jeans, but shopping for the perfect pair can be a dreaded ordeal. Radio personality Nira Arora and Consumer Reports Shopsmart's Jody Rohlena want to help you find the jeans that will flatter you most.

For the summer Arora loves her jean leggings, or "jeggings" as she calls them. They give the comfort of leggings without the downside of material that is too thin or stretches out too fast.

"They last longer, they are thicker and I think they come across as more trendy because it looks like you are wearing jeans, but they are so comfortable," Arora told CTV News.

At Mavi there are 14 different washes available.

Another great pant is the super loose boyfriend jean.

"You want it so loose that it's almost just hanging off your hips, and you want it loose to the point where you can roll it up and wear it with ballerina flats, flip flops or even heels and a blazer," she said.

From Lucky jeans, Arora likes the Lola bootleg for its body-shaping ability.

"(You) can't go wrong with a bootcut because you can dress it up or dress it down," she said.

Shopsmart's Jody Rohlena checked out several other jeans that promise to flatter.

"We bought jeans that claim to slim, shape and tuck, and asked several of our staffers to try them on and compare them to their old jeans," Rohlena said.

Staffer Melissa's old jeans were from the juniors' department and she didn't like how they looked from the back. Lee's Perfectly Lifts jeans solved the problem.

Antonella's old jeans gave her a muffin top and just didn't make her waistline look attractive. They also didn't help to elongate her legs. Levi's Perfectly Slimming 512 straight leg at $44 made her look slimmer and taller, and didn't give her a muffin top.

Jennifer's been losing weight, so her old jeans hide her figure because they are too big and baggy. L.L. Bean's Slimming Jeans make her look a size smaller.

"You don't need to spend a fortune. It's all about the fit and what feels and looks right on your body," Rohlena said.

Shopping with an honest friend helps too.

"One of the worst case scenarios is you spend the money, you put in the time, you come home and it sits in the closet and you never touch them," Arora said.

Just in case you thought you were the only one, a Shopsmart's survey determined that super low-waisted jeans are the style most women want to go away and never come back.
