Health Canada announced Wednesday the recall of thousands of cribs and strollers.
The crib recall affects 7,600 Dorel or Safety 1st cribs sold in Canada between December 2006 and January of this year. They were sold through Sears and Babies 'R' Us stores and some specialty shops.
The recall affects the 3-in-1 Carlisle drop-side crib in dark cherry (model number 10H020) and the Tara drop-side crib in white (model number DAKM5132C).
The crib name, model number and "Dorel Distribution Canada" can be found on an instruction sheet on the crib's mattress support board.
Health Canada says the cribs' drop-side plastic hardware can break or deform. In some cases, the drop-side has been installed upside-down, which can result in broken or disengaged plastic parts.
If you have one of these models, the manufacturer has a repair kit available to reinforce the brackets. But the company admits it doesn't have enough in stock right now so it may take several weeks to deliver.
In the meantime, Health Canada recommends you examine the plastic drop-side hardware. If there is any reason for concern, consumers should immediately stop using the crib.

Meanwhile, 28,000 Graco-brand strollers distributed by Elfe Juvenile Products in Canada are subject to a recall notice.
The recalled strollers were sold from October 2004 to present day at stores, including Sears, Babies 'R' Us, Wal-Mart and baby specialty stores.
The hinges on the stroller's canopy pose a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when the consumer is opening or closing the canopy, according to Health Canada.
You can contact the company for a free hinge cover.
