A 45-year-old homeless woman suffered significant injuries while trapped in a clothing donation bin in Pitt Meadows Sunday evening.

Emergency crews were called to Meadowtown Centre when a store employee discovered the woman was stuck around 10:45 p.m.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to pry the bin open.

Crews then performed CPR on the woman before loading her onto an ambulance.

She remains in hospital in life threatening-condition.

Police say they're still investigating whether or not the woman climbed into the bin on her own.
