CTV British Columbia has been short listed for four categories in the province's highest journalism prize.

The station is nominated for four prestigious Jack Webster television reporting awards, the organization announced Tuesday.

Reporters Lisa Rossington, Jon Woodward, Julia Foy and Kent Molgat are finalists for best TV reporting of the year for their team coverage of B.C.'s ongoing gang wars.

In the business reporting category, Shannon Paterson is nominated for her work on the condo construction crash in Metro Vancouver.

Jon Woodward, Stephen Smart, Jim Beatty and Kent Molgat got a nod in the legal category for their investigation into the questionable land dealings of John Les.

The former solicitor-general resigned after an RCMP investigation into the allegations became public last March.

Peter Grainger is nominated in the science and technology reporting category for his reporting on Taser science. Grainger was one of four CTV reporters who took home a 2008 Webster award for their team coverage on the Taser death of Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski at the Vancouver Airport.

Last year's award ceremony also saw CTV take top accolades in the field of legal journalism for its team coverage of the Robert Pickton murder trial.

This year, longtime CTV anchor Bill Good will be honoured with the Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners will be announced October 20 at a gala ceremony.

The Jack Webster Foundation, named after the late broadcaster, was started in 1986 to recognize excellence in B.C. journalism.
