British Columbians are getting a brand new lunch hour newscast Monday as CTV News at Noon debuts with anchor Keri Adams.

Adams will be joined by veteran CTV Sports Director Perry Solkowski and CTV Weather Specialist Marke Driesschen, who will be appearing in costume as "Markenstein" for the show's Oct. 31 premiere.

The noon hour newscast is the first of two new CTV British Columbia broadcasts to launch; CTV Morning Live debuts on Nov. 14.

"We are producing more news, and telling more stories to our viewers than ever before," said Adams, who is moving from her role anchoring CTV News at 11:30.

"The thing about the noon show is that we've never occupied this time slot before… people can tune in, get their top stories, then head out in the afternoon and know what's going on."

Adams will also co-host CTV News at Five, joined by former CTV National Vancouver Bureau Chief Rob Brown.

Brown, a Webster-award winning journalist, will still be on reporting duties when breaking news calls.

Longtime news anchor Coleen Christie will take the reins of CTV News at 11:30.
