Greater Vancouver Transit Police are looking for a man they say assaulted a female SkyTrain passenger, allegedly grabbing the woman by the buttocks and crotch.

The victim -- a woman in her mid-twenties -- was taking the train from Renfrew station in East Vancouver on April 29 at around 4:30 p.m.

She was accompanied by two co-workers at the time of the assault, according to Sgt. Tom Seaman, a spokesman for the Transit Police.

As she was standing in the train, a man suddenly grabbed her buttocks and crotch, police said. She and her co-workers and the suspect all got off at Commercial Station.

Investigators said the suspect was wearing a red leather jacket that featured artwork and tassles on the arms.

He was wearing a very colourful shirt, an English style cap, blue jeans and wire rim glasses, police added.

It also appears he may have a shaved head and he was wearing numerous rings. In his right ear was a blue tooth cell phone device.

He was last seen boarding a northbound bus on Main Street.

Transit Police are asking anybody who recognizes the suspect to contact them at 604 515 8300 or call Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222 8477. Callers should refer to file 09-4750.
