West Vancouver police have identified the teenaged girl who died after she jumped from a moving SUV Tuesday night.
Sixteen-year-old Murphy Patricia Delesalle died in hospital after she leapt from the GMC Yukon driven by her mother in the 400-block of Keith Road.
Delesalle was arguing with her mother when she jumped.
Police say they have found no evidence that the girl was pushed, and have completed the criminal investigation into Delesalle's death.
Traffic investigators say they found no mechanical defect in the family's SUV.
Friends and community members laid flowers at the scene of the accident on Wednesday.
A mother of a girl who attended Collingwood School with Delesalle described the teen as a "dear, dear girl."
"She's a very bright spark in everybody's life," the woman said. "She just radiated love and energy everywhere she went."
Mahboubeh Moyad lives near the scene of the tragedy, and she told CTV News that she came outside to see what was going on when she heard sirens.
"I saw the girl lying there. The mother was in shock, saying, ‘This isn't happening, this isn't happening,'" Moyad said.
"She told the police that she opened the door and she jumped out of the car."
