Vancouver police have confirmed that the victim of a brazen shooting at a downtown restaurant Tuesday night was notorious gangster Sandip Singh Duhre.
Thirty-six-year-old Duhre, a former associate of the infamous Bacon brothers, was shot dead as he sat at a window table in the Wall Centre's Bar One restaurant.
Police have not said how many shots were fired, but say Duhre was hit multiple times.
The shooting marked Vancouver's first homicide of the year and a suspect has not been identified.
The Duhre crime group was the target of a public warning in October, when police warned that the gangsters' friends and family members could be in danger shortly after the shooting death of Red Scorpions gangster Jonathan Bacon.
