B.C. Conservative John Martin announced he’s switching sides Friday and will run for the BC Liberals in May.

Martin ran for MLA of Chilliwack-Hope in a by-election in April but lost to the NDP’s Gwen O’Mahoney.

This defection for the BC Conservatives comes on the eve of the party’s AGM in Langley where members will vote on whether they will hold a leadership review.

Should a majority of members vote in favour, BC Conservatives leader John Cummins must immediately step down.

Members will also be voting this weekend for party president and the candidates include people who are both with and against Cummins.
