B.C.'s opposition New Democrats have launched a new attack ad against Christy Clark, comparing her to the province's much-maligned former premier and evoking the BC Rail scandal.
The ad begins with a couple eating a cereal called "Christy Crunch," a convenient breakfast "loaded with HST" but offering zero health benefits.
"It tastes familiar," a woman says. "They've definitely added artificial sweetener."
The box advertises that each purchase helps cover Liberals' legal bills, and inside they find a toy train with the BC Rail logo on the side.
The cereal is branded as "repackaged," and placed next to a box of "Campbell Crunch" with Gordon Campbell's photo.
The ad follows another released in advance of the Liberals' leadership vote, which depicted the candidates as photocopies of the outgoing premier.
Meanwhile, the New Democrats remain without a leader. Members will vote on a replacement for Carole James, who resigned in December, on April 17.
