Gas giant Chevron has notified B.C. customers that if they filled up with premium in the past few days, they may have gotten a lower grade instead.

The company says some regular-grade 87-octane gas was unintentionally blended into its premium product between Sept. 8 and 10 at more than 50 B.C. locations.

The error happened at gas stations in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the North Okanagan.

It’s now stopped the sale of premium gas at the affected locations.

“Chevron is committed to resolving this issue with its customers and we are working to establish an information hotline to provide further details,” a statement from the company reads.
