Police are still puzzled about how a man whose body was found in Burnaby last weekend died, despite an autopsy completed on Tuesday.
Patrol officers found the body in the trunk of an abandoned car on Saturday afternoon in the 4000-block of Dominion Street. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called in to handle the case.
Cpl. Dale Carr says the death is considered suspicious, though the cause is not apparent. Investigators now await a toxicology report from the BC Coroners Service.
The deceased is believed to be in his 20s. His family asked his name not be released yet, but Carr said it may be announced at a later date.
The investigation has not found any links to gangs, drugs or organized crime.
