A video filmed at the Prince George airport is raising questions about how a shipping company is handling packages.
The man who shot the video, which was sent to CTV's MyNews, didn’t wish to be identified. He said the clip appears to show packages being recklessly thrown in into the back of a Purolator van on the tarmac.
“This went on for a few minutes before I started to record,” he said. “We couldn’t believe how they were handling packages, so I decided to record.”
The man said he sent the video to Purolator to see what they had to say, but he hasn’t heard back.
He said he was “certain” that no one was in the van catching the thrown packages.
Mike Boucher, Purolator's Chief Operations Officers, said that the company does not condone the type of behaviour seen in the video.
"As a company committed to providing quality service, we are concerned by the scenes in this video," he said in an email statement. "We are taking the matter seriously and the incident is under investigation and being addressed with all individuals involved. Purolator has stringent policies regarding package handling for all facilities and we will be reviewing package handling procedures with our teams to reinforce these policies"
