The BC Teachers' Federation is urging its members to wear black today to mark the 10th anniversary of the passage of Bills 27 and 28.
The union says it was on this day in 2002 that legislation came into force, altering collective agreements to eliminate class size and composition provisions.
Teachers also plan to rally on several Vancouver and Richmond bridges early tomorrow afternoon to protest the slow pace of revising the legislation -- which was ruled unconstitutional nearly one year ago.
Meanwhile, job action by teachers continues across B.C. as the BCTF seeks wage and benefit improvements in a new contract, with the employers' association holds firm to a government directive for a net zero increase.
