David Shearing, who killed six members of the Johnson and Bentley families 30 years ago, was denied parole in an Alberta courtroom Tuesday.

Shearing, who now uses the surname of Ennis, is serving a life term for slaying George and Edith Bentley, their daughter Jackie and son-in-law Bob Johnson, and the Johnson's young daughters, Janet and Karen.

The killings occurred in 1982 as the families camped in Wells Gray Provincial Park and Shearing is once again eligible for parole, after his 25-year term for the six murders ended in 2008.

Parole has already been denied once and relatives of the victims say it is painful to relive the slayings each time Shearing is eligible for release.
